Success Story: CCC Kwei Wah Shan College RFID Library

面對的挑戰及痛點 Painpoints & Challenge

This secondary school has a long history, but its library services were still stuck in the 1980s, offering only on‑site borrowing and returning of physical books. This failed to inspire students to read, resulting in low library usage and outdated facilities and hardware that urgently needed upgrading.

解決方案

Million Tech provided a complete Smart Library Solution, including:

  • Tagging and book‑positioning service
Using RFID technology, staff can easily locate books for searching and stocktaking.
  • Overhead Antenna
If a student takes a book out of the library without completing the borrowing process, an alarm is triggered.
  • Self‑service borrowing and return Kiosk
Students simply scan the book’s RFID tag and their student card to complete borrowing or returning.
  • Two 24‑hour Smart Book Cabinets
User‑friendly, like a drinks vending machine, and extending borrowing/return services beyond library opening hours.

Result

The solution helps the Teacher‑Librarian carry out inventory checks more easily and reduces repetitive work, cutting stocktaking time from 2–3 weeks to just half a working day. Students can now self‑borrow and return books on campus and, through technology‑enabled self‑directed learning, their engagement and sense of well‑being have both improved.
