Success Story: Lei Muk Shue Catholic Primary School RFID Library

Pain Points and Challenges

The old library was located on the 6th floor, so students seldom visited this upper-floor facility. The school wanted to upgrade to a smart library to create a better reading atmosphere and experience for primary students.

Solution

Million Tech provided a Smart Library Solution including:

  • RFID Book Search
Using RFID technology, staff can easily locate books and manage the library collection more efficiently.
  • RFID Self‑service Return Box
A book drop box was installed at the covered playground on the ground floor. Students simply place books into the box, and the system uses RFID to identify and complete the return instantly, helping them avoid overdue items without needing to go up to the 6th-floor library.
  • RFID 24‑hour Book Borrowing and Return Locker
The locker extends borrowing and return services beyond library opening hours and can even act as a “book crossing” station to support reading‑promotion activities.

Result

  • Significantly enhanced the reading atmosphere on campus
  • Students can borrow and return books at the school lobby without going to the 6th-floor library
  • Reduced teachers’ stocktaking time and simplified collection management
