For many years, the school had been using a traditional library system. While basic circulation functions were stable, the system had clear limitations in supporting e-learning, BYOD devices, and future AI applications, and the upgrade cost–benefit ratio could not meet the school’s expectations. As the school placed increasing emphasis on e‑books and online resources, teachers needed a smart platform that could manage physical books, analyse reading data, and support AI‑driven recommendations; the legacy system could no longer support future development needs.
This secondary school has a long history, but its library services were still stuck in the 1980s, offering only on‑site borrowing and returning of physical books. This failed to inspire students to read, resulting in low library usage and outdated facilities and hardware that urgently needed upgrading.
The school library’s facilities could no longer keep up with the times, and managing the growing collection was becoming increasingly complex. The school decided to renovate the library and create a brand‑new smart library and activity space, and therefore needed an appropriate design and solution partner.
The old library was located on the 6th floor, so students seldom visited this upper-floor facility. The school wanted to upgrade to a smart library to create a better reading atmosphere and experience for primary students.
