在我們的日常生活中，很容易就能發現物聯網（Internet of Things，簡稱IoT）的蹤跡。無論是我們使用的電動牙刷、運動手環、信用卡NFC付款，甚至駕駛時使用的車Cam和導航系統，這些都是IoT的日常應用例子，通過IoT收集使用數據，令我們更了解自己的生活習慣，在商業和教育領域也是如此。其實現時IoT已在商業社會中大放異彩，各行各業已在應用IoT，一方面推動企業數碼轉型，另一方面通過收集的數據來提高效率。而要打造智慧校園，更應該從IoT著手。

筆者公司最近跟一個非牟利團體合作，推行一個相當創新的CSR項目：「智能圖書館項目助理」。CSR是指「企業社會責任」（Corporate Social Responsibility），強調企業在經濟活動中的角色不僅僅是盈利，還應該承擔一定的社會責任。近年，愈來愈多的企業關注CSR，積極參與社會福祉、社區關懷以及環境保護，成為更具社會價值觀念的組織。
